Bechem United announce signing 'Africa Messi' Cofie Bekoe to aid campaign

Ghana Premier League side Bechem United have signed talented former Ghana international Cofie Bekoe on a short-term deal.

A club statement on Twitter read: “Official: We've signed Cofie Bekoe. The ex Lierse SK & Ittihad Tripoli midfielder joins till the end if the season.”

The 27-year-old dribbling wizard has been unattached since terminating his contract with Libyan outfit Ittihad Tripoli.

Bekoe, who was nicknamed Africa Messi during his successful two-season spell at Egyptian side Petrojet, will play for the Hunters still the end of the season.

The former Nania FC player has also played for Belgian top-flight side SK Lierse.

Bechem’s form for the first half of the season was chequered as the finished 12th on the table, one point above the relegation mark.
