Bechem United Coach Kobby Mensah not surprised referees were caught on Anas expose

Head Coach of Premier League side Bechem United Bismarck Kobby Mensah says he was not surprised that referees were caught taking bribes in the Anas expose. 

Investigative journalist Anas Armeyaw Anas premiered his latest expose on Wednesday at the Accra International Conference Center where several referees exchanging gifts and monies to influence games.

Coach Kobby Mensah said after the showing of the expose that he was not astonished by the events of the day.

"For me I wasn’t surprised, I know these things, especially referees deciding the results of the game, I have been a victim in my entire coaching career” the former Nzema Kotoko coach told Footballmadeinghana.

The head coach of Bechem United then went on to add that poor officiating made him lost three points in a league game this season.

“This season for instance, when we went to Techiman for a regional derby, a ball did not hit the hands of our captain Daniel Agyin which was so clear, but the referee whistled for a penalty, we have suffered so much as players and as coaches,”

”Some coaches even lost their jobs because of poor officiating, so for that area I’m not surprised, I know for sure more will come.” He added.
