Bechem United fined GHȼ105,000 for misconduct

The Disciplinary Committee of the Ghana Football Association (GFA) has charged Bechem United GHȼ105,000 fine for their misconduct in their game against Great Olympics on October 22, 2017.

The three charges leveled against the club were that, on the day of the said game, “When the match officials were entering the stadium for the Pre-match Technical Meeting” their fans not only “insulted and intimated the match officials” they as well “cursed them by breaking eggs” in clear breach of the rules governing the game.

They also “Blocked the entry to the park, making it impossible for the StarTimes/GBC crew to cover the match besides using unapproved gate to enter the stadium”.

In their ruling released on Wednesday, the Committee, “Having satisfied itself that the evidence before it supported the charges brought against Bechem United, first slapped a GHȼ5000 on them in accordance with Article 39(1)(b) of the GFA General Regulations.

The committee, on the basis of the second charge, fined the club GHȼ100,000 in accordance with Article 39(1)(b) of the GFA General Regulations – bringing their total fines to GHȼ105,000.

The amount is payable within 14 days after the release of the ruling.

Bechem United has three days to file an appeal.
