Eric Bekoe’s expected return to Asante Kotoko will be further delayed as Petrojet are reluctant in letting him go.

The 25-year-old is hoping to get cleared by relevant authorities to pave the way for a return to the Ghanaian top flight as a free agent.

Negotiations over a proposed abrogation of a one-more-year left contract with the Egyptian club however seems to be making no headway with a series of back and forths.

The protracted discussions over conditions of termination has left the Ghana striker in a limbo as he reveals the club are still interested in his services.

“Even though I was not able to finish the season with them, they still see some qualities in me. So they are being very stubborn over my release,” Bekoe told Skyy Power.

“I have to go to Egypt on Thursday with my agent to sort things out and I hope we can get the release I need.

“They have tried 10 strikers but they keep complaining that none of them matches up to me.”

Bekoe joined Petrojet in 2009 from Asante Kotoko after he has emerged the Ghana’s League top goalscorer with 17 goals.
