Former Ghana FA boss Ben Koufie has dismissed suggestions of including any of the Local-Black Stars players into the mainstream team ahead of the World Cup despite qualifying to the CHAN final.
The home-based Stars secured a final berth against Libya after a nerve-racking penalty shoot-out win over perennial rivals Nigeria on Wednesday night.
The veteran football administrator, who doubles as the technical chief of the Ghana FA, Â believes none of the players deserve a seat on the plane to Brazil.
“I have seen them play and they will not command a place on the full team. We cannot single it out and say this player has been excellent so we need to include him,†Koufie told Happy FM
“They have done well as a team but individually no. Konadu has done an excellent job, but to say somebody should be called for the Black Stars proper I will confidently say no.
“We have to groom them. We should not rush them but rather try to build them up so that when they get there we will all benefit.â€
Despite securing a final berth, there are others who have not been impressed with the performance of the team.
