Premier League side Berekum Arsenals have appointed Nana Awuah as head coach for the upcoming season, GHANAsoccernet.com understands.

Johnson Smith, who steered the club to safety last season, has been re-assigned as assistant coach.

Awuah has Premier League experience during his days as BA United coach in 2002.

In June this year, he guided the Brong Ahafo team to win the Under-15 Milo Regional Championship.

Arsenals survived relegation on the final day of competition and want to avert that this term.

The local 'Gunners' begin their campaign against Hearts of Oak on 8 October at Cape-Coast due to a home-match ban.
