Berekum Chelsea have been boosted with the return of three key players ahead of their CAF Champions League Group opener against Zamalek on Saturday.

Influential captain Abdul Basit trained for the first time in one month on Wednesday after sustaining a hamstring injury.

Talented winger Solomon Asante and Ghana left back Kissi Boateng have also returned to the squad.

"We are very glad that Basit was able to train and that is very good for us," head coach Van der Pluijm told Sunyani-based Storm FM.

"Also I heard people saying we rested our players against Kotoko in the Cup match last Sonday.

"But the fact is that both Solomon (Asante) and Kissi (Boateng) were all sick but now they have recovered fully so we can play them on Saturday."

Chelsea will play the five-time champions at the Accra Sports Stadium instead of their favoured Golden City Park in Berekum.
