Berekum Chelsea coach Hans van Der Plyum is delighted to have finally secured the elusive win in the second round of the Premier League.

Chelsea managed a narrow 1-0 win over All Stars on Wednesday in Berekum to get their title ambitions back on track.

The Blues had suffered two successive defeats at the start of the second round, making their midweek win even more crucial.

“I am very happy of course because I told the boys this is a must win game ahead of the weekend’s Champions League tie,” Chelsea’s Dutch trainer said after the game.

“I think the commitment and determination of the players did the trick because this was a very difficult game.”

Van Der Plyum also made the point of how important the win is relative to their bid to successfully defend their league title.

“Today Kotoko drew and Hearts lo0st so it gives as a chance to come into the title chase again as we wish to get to our goal which is to remain champions.”
