Berekum Chelsea head coach Tony Lokko has descended heavily on exasperated fans who nearly beat him up after their 1-1 draw with Ahly Benghazi at home on Sunday in the CAF Champions League.

The 2012 Group stage campaigners were far from impressive and needed an injury time equalizer to deny the Libyan side victory.

After the final whistle, some unhappy fans inside the Golden City Park charged on the trainer to assault him.

“For me the behavior of the fans is foolish. I even felt they were angered by the score line only to find out that they were coming on me because they had betted and we didn’t win,” Lokko said on Accra-based Happy FM.

“For me it’s totally foolish. I doubt a true fan of Chelsea will do that.”

Berekum Chelsea will face Ahly Benghazi this weekend in Tunis for the return leg encounter.
