Richard Kissi Boateng says is not aware of his supposed move to TP Mazembe

By Patrick Akoto

Berekum Chelsea defender Richard Kissi Boateng says he is unaware of his supposed move to TP Mazembe.

The exciting left back has been linked with a $500,000 move to the Congolese giants.

Officals of the Berekum-based side said on Tuesday that an agreement has been reached with the four-time champions with the player expected to fly to Congo to complete formalities next week.

But the 23-year-old says he is in the dark over his supposed move to the ambitious club.

“”I have heard [of the impending move to Mazembe], that this is what is going on. But I don’t know whether it is true or not,” Boateng told Accra-based Citi FM

“”The big men have not told me anything about it. The chairman is in Accra and he will return to Berekum on Friday and that’s when I’m going to find out if it is true or not.”

The former Liberty Professionals defender however says he will welcome a move abroad.

“In life you need to step a step forward. So for me travelling outside the country will not be something new for me,”

I’ve already tasted it and I know how it is, so I will say it will be for my work done all these years.”

Boateng’s impressive displays earned him a call-up to the Black Stars.

  1. GH FUO, THINK BIG!!! says:

I HAVE SAID THIS BEFORE AND WILL SAY IT AGAIN. NYANTAKYI NEEDS TO DO SMTHING ABOUT THE PLAYER EXODUS WE R HAVING IN GH. IT IS GETTING OUT OF HAND. CLEARLY, CLUBS LIKE KOTOKO, HEARTS, ASHGOLD, NEW EDUBIASE CANT COMPETE MONEYWISE TO TOHER CLUBS IN AFRICA. THIS ALONE PUTS GH CLUBS AT A DISADVANTAGE. ANYOE WHO THINKS KOTOKO HAVE THE TALENT TO GO TO EVEN THE SEMIS IN THE CHAMPIONS LEAGUE IS BRAIN DEAD. KOTOKO HAS SOLD MOST OF THEIR TOP PLAYERS. THESE ARE PLAYERS THE CLUB NEEDS TO MAKE NOISE IN AFRICA. PLAYERS WHO HAVE EXPERIENCE AND HAVE PLAYED TOGETHER FOR A WHILE. GFA MUST INSTITUTE A 3 YR LEAGUE MINIMUM BEFORE ANY PLAYER IS ELIGIBLE TO BE SOLD OUTSIDE GH. IT WILL ENSURE THAT THESE GH PLAYERS ARE MATURE BEFORE THEY R SOLD. IT WILL ALSO PROVIDE QUALITY PLAYERS FOR OUR LEAGUE, WHICH WILL MAKE IT MORE EXCITING AND COMPETITIVE. PLUS CLUBS WILL HAVE ACCESS TO THEIR PLAYERS FOR LEAGUE TITLES, CHAMPIONS LEAGUE TROPHIES. IF GFA FAILS TO DO SO, NO GH CLUB WILL PUT ITSELF IN A HEALTHY POSITION TO WIN ANYTHING IN AFRICA. I MEAN, HOW DO U COMPETE WITH CLUBS IN S AFRICA, CONGO, EGYPT WHEN THEY R BUYING YOUR BEST PLAYERS? THINK!
