Berekum Chelsea insist they can compete favourably on all fronts, including in the CAF Champions League despite their weakened finances.

The Blues have struggled to sustain the impact they have been accustomed to this term since their emergence in the Ghanaian top flight.

The absence of bankroller Emmanuel Kyeremeh has taken its toll on the operations of the club – with the side now unable to buy big in the transfer market.

But the club’s general manager Francis Oduro Sarfo says this is not excuse enough for them to chicken out as they intend to compete on all fronts with full vim.

“I think Radio Gold has financial problems, many other entities in Ghana have financial problems not only Berekum Chelsea,” he said in an interview with Radio Gold.

“Even the Ghana government is having financial problems and are chasing a three billion Chinese loan.

“But that is not going to deter us from giving a good account of ourselves in the competitions we are in.”

The former Ghanaian champions aside their struggles to retain their Premier League status, are battling in the FA Cup and will also be returning to the CAF Champions League later this year.
