Berekum Chelsea put up a sterling display to shock Kessben 0-1 at the Essipong Stadium to go top of the table in the late kick-off.

Striker Emmanuel Banahene turned home the winner on 56 minutes with a half-volley inside the box after receiving a perfect-inch cross from Bismark Idan who out-paced his marker on the flank.

Chelsea could have doubled the lead later on but substitute who profited from a poor back-pass clearance by Kessben goalie Mozart Adjetey shot amazingly wide with only the net at his mercy.

Bismark Idan hit the cross-bar with a well taken shot inside after Obed Owusu made the run on the right flank and sent in a cross which split the Kessben defence.

Chelsea defender Eric Agyeman denied Kessben FC the equalizer in added on time with a goal line clearance with his head.

A well taken free-kick from right back Augustine Sefa found the head of striker Hans Koufie and with Chelsea keeper Ernest Sowah completely beaten, Agyeman applied his head to protect the lead.

Chelsea now have a four-point lead at top with 20 but two points richer than second-place Kessben FC.
