By Patrick Akoto

Berekum Chelsea duo Richard Kissi Boateng and Solomon Asante will fly out to Congo next week to join TP Mazembe for a combined fee of $1 millon, GHANAsoccernet.com can reveal.

The two players will undergo medicals pending the completion of negotiations by the close of the week.

The four-time African Champions paid $400,000 to secure the services of midfielder Gladson Awako and are expected to fork out $500,000 each for the two players.

“I am taken Kissi and Solomon Asante to Congo next week. We’re demanding $500,000 each for the services of the two players,” Chelsea Accra representative Nana Oduro Sarfo told Kumasi-based Fox FM

“We are just waiting for the offer letter. Because if you don’t get the offer letter before you leave, you will be in trouble.”

Boateng and Asante impressed heavily for the 2010 Ghanaian League Champions which earned them call-ups to the Black Stars.

is that where Ghanaian football has gotten to? flying out and out to Congo. I dont know where the new found love started to spark between the local league and TP Mazembe. they seems to be scooping all the Ghana players. i wouldnt be surprise next to here Kwesi appiah ditching the gahan post to coach tp mazember and kwesi nyantekyi administering the football. this is absurdity. Guys improve your game and attract offers from top European teams like the Ivorians and to an extent Nigerians are doing.

TPM IS BETTER THAN SOME OF THE SO CALLED EUROPEAN TEAMS U RESPECT,, ITS A PITY U STILL THINK THE COLONIAL WAY THAT ONLY EUROPE MAKES SENSE.. MAY GOD FORGIVE YOUR SMALL BRAIN. ASK HOW MUCH SOME OF YOUR EUROPE PLAYERS ARE PAID 2 ‘MERE BALLS’… AND ASK HOW MUCH TRESOR MPUTU IS PAID,,, SHAME ON YOU RICHARD,, U SHOULD REPENT AND STOP WORSHIPPING ANYTHING WHITE,,,,

  2. TROKOSI says:

I thought it was only Zambian players playing for TP Mazembe. Anyway I am just saying.

  3. MAN. U, T.P.MAZEMBE, NKANA AND ZAMBIA says:

its sad that these players will be bench warmers coz kalaba and company are ruthless.

  4. J. White says:

If T.P. Mazembe can cough out $500,000 for each of two Ghanaian players, then it tells you how far ahead the Congolese league is. I wonder whether our Kotoko and Hearts of Oak can buy two such players in a season. God help Ghana premier league, because it’s really sinking just the blind-eyed football administrators in the country don’t realize it: they are so happy following Black Stars because there is money there.

  5. KT says:

Amazing… TP Mazembe Englebert?? So what happened to the so called ‘African Club of The Century’? They are not rich enough? What happened to my 100year-old Mighty Oak Tree? Too poor? Ooh Ghana!!

  6. Nana Owusu says:

yes, keep selling them, the money is good for u now. We the fans will also keep our money in our pocket cos we cant pay to watch scraps. We will see who will suffer in a long-run.

    • BoscoGH says:

Good point there Nana Owusu. Instead of keeping your stars and improving on your showing in africa by trying to win the local league so you can represent Ghana again, you are selling all your players left , right and centre because of some peanut you will earn today.
If TPM had sold all their stars after a single season of excellence, would they have won the title the following season?

As a manager, it is not every offer you accept.
Finish selling the whole team and lets see who will come and watch your games or you think we are interested in some kind of ‘colts’ platyers parading as premier division footballers. Nonsense!

  7. NABY says:

THIS IS PREPOSTEROUS,WHY IS B.CHELSEA SELLING ALL THEIR GOOD PLAYERS TO TP MAZEMBE?,AND THEY ARE NOT ALONE,ASANTE KOTOKO HAVE ALSO SOLD OUT TWO OF THEIR BEST PLAYERS TO THE SAME CLUB FOR PALTRY FEES,AM UTTERLY DISAPPOINTED,I DOUBT WHETHER ALL THESE PLAYERS WILL BE GUARANTEED PLAYING TIME,HAVE THEY CONSIDERED THE LITTLE ISSUE OF LANGUAGE?,HMMM!

    • kwame-blz says:

Its bad business for Kotoko and I guess they are planning to be knockout of the qualifying rounds of the champions lge because they ii play similar teams of T.P M in the champs. lge and if you ii sell ur best replace them with the best and I don not see that happening, at least chelsea aint playing in africa and got a yr or so to regroup player which they are doing with the likes of saddick.

Good news proudly African.. Why do we always prefer Europe even when they are not paid well??
