League champions Berekum Chelsea face New Edubiase United in the opener of the maiden GHALCA Glo G8 Cup on Saturday afternoon at the Sunyani Coronation Park.

Edubiase enjoyed a fairytale season last term to finish eighth and beat Chelsea 2-0 at the Gyemfis Park during the first half of the season.

But the Adansi-based side suffered a 3-0 defeat at the Golden City Park in Berekum.

Chelsea have made some quality signing and returnee coach Steve Polack will assess his personnel for their league title challenge.

Edubiase will be without inspirational captain Mumuni Abubakar who is a member of Ghana's squad at the All Africa Games.

The tournament's opener will kick-off at 12 noon and will be telecast live on the state-owned Ghana Television.

Meanwhile, the 2009/2010 league champions Aduana Stars play Heart of Lions in the other Group A clash at the same centre.
