Berekum Chelsea win friendly ahead of Kotoko clash

Published on: 10 December 2011

Champions Berekum Chelsea beat second tier side Tano Bofoakwa 2-0 in a friendly at the Sunyani Coronation Park on Friday.

The Blues scored in each half to give the Division One side a reality check ahead of their MTN FA cup opener next week.

Striker Emmanuel Clottey's first half drive was deflected into the Bofoakwa goal before Nigerien import Musah Mohammed sealed the game after he rounded off the Bofoakwa defence to slot home with two minutes to time.

Hans Van Der Plyum's side will not be engaged in a league match this weekend as their opponents Kumasi Asante Kotoko will be playing an International friendly in Tanzania on Sunday.

The fixture has therefore been postponed to Wednesday 14 December.

Both teams played a highly entertaining match with Chelsea parading stars like Abdul Basit, Yaw Alexander, Emmanuel Clottey, Prince Anokye and Richard Afari
