Bernie Slaven says Boro fans shouldn't be getting shirty over QPR fan Albert, describing him as 'a footballer acting like a football supporter'.

I was amazed to see a bit of a 'twitter storm' brew up over Albert Adomah being pictured wearing another team's shirt.

When I first saw all the angry comments about being unprofessional and being provocative and he should be chased out of the club I thought he must have been seen walking down Linthorpe Road in a Newcastle top!

Or he’d been snapped like Paul Ince, wearing the shirt of a team he’d agreed to join without telling his current club.

But no, it turns out that someone has pictured him on a smartphone wearing a QPR shirt after going a to watch the team he supported as a boy.

He went to the match, bought a shirt and wore it just like all his mates will have done on the night.

He is a footballer acting like a football supporter.

And we are supposed to be angry about that?

For me, that is some people going out of their way to find something to be offended about.

People complain all the time that footballers are remote from the fans, that they live in golden towers and in a bubble of money and they don’t understand how fans feel.
