Ex-Kotoko striker Eric Bekoe claims he ‘fainted’ after the club ‘betrayed’ him over his return to the Ghanaian giants.

The 27-year-old saw his return to the Kumasi-based side collapsed at the eleventh hour despite  passing a medical.

The former Heart of Lions striker has revealed he ‘collapsed’ after hearing of Kotoko’s U-turn.

“You know it was a shock, I mean for someone to let go of 450 thousand dollars just to think of the love for the team and I will get here and without a proper check on me by any doctor and then you tell me I have a knee injury which I haven’t even experienced in my entire career before,” he revealed on Radio XYZ

“I was dropped on the way with the team to Cape Coast at Anyinam, that was where I was dropped and given the information that orders from above says I have to drop out of the team until further notice.

“I have been painted badly to the fans of the Club and till now, someone who doesn’t know the story still believes that I neglected Kotoko, but they rather did, the past management they rather abandoned me after convincing me to terminate my contract with Petrojet.

He Added:  â€œI asked former member, the late Jerry Asare may his soul rest in peace, that sir are you sure you guys won’t disappoint me if I should terminate my contract, but he assured me everything will be fine.

“Later he called to tell me that the people [Kotoko] are not willing to sign me on and before I realized, I was in the hospital with my mum and she told me I collapsed after hearing the news on the phone.

The ex-Petrojet attacker is still popular among Kotoko fans after he netted an incredible 42 goals in all competition for the club in 2008.
