Cheltenham Town manager Mark Yates has admitted his disappointment after Koby Arthur returned to Birmingham just a month into his loan spell.

Birmingham have asked the 18-year-old to return to the Saint Andrews after his short loan spell at the League One side which was supposed to end in January.

Having netted four goals in eight appearance, the Blues recalled the winger after suffering a number of injuries to members of their squad.

"It is a call I didn't want to happen," Yates told BBC Radio Gloucestershire.

"You are always vulnerable when you get young loan players with a bit of quality and his club feel the need to take him back and use him.

"His goalscoring exploits have done wonders for us and hopefully we have provided him with a good platform.

"Credit to him for taking his opportunity and being a real positive figure in our decent start this season."
