Uganda Cranes skipper Andrew Mwesigwa is a worried man after angry football fans reportedly tried to break his gate at home.

Mwesigwa told AfricanFootball.com in Doha, Qatar on Thursday night at the Mercure Grand Hotel that he is scared because he does not know what to expect next. The defender explained that his family had told him on phone that angry football fans came shaking the gate at his home and wanted to get in.

The Kazahkstan based professional was sent off in the 58th minute before Guinea got a penalty in a crucial 2015 Africa Cup of Nations (Afcon) qualifier played in Casablanca, Morocco on Wednesday. The West Africans won 2-0 to qualify at the expense of Uganda Cranes who needed only a draw to break the 37 year old jinx of failing to qualify.

The defender however said he will try to be strong because in his working hard for the national team some mistakes occurred. Mwesigwa who regretted the loss said in football mistakes can be made by any player.

When the team arrived in Uganda on Friday, Mwesigwa was provided with security which will also guard his home for some days.
