Ghana recorded a 2-0 win over Ethiopia in Addis Ababa in the African Women’s Championship final qualifying round on Sunday.

The Black Queens, buoyed by last week’s 1-0 friendly win over South Africa’s Bayana Bayana, were in total dominant of the first leg tie.

But Yussif Basigi’s side had to wait until the 42nd minute when Elizabeth Cudjoe opened the scoring.

It was a simple tap-in for the Nigeria-based midfielder.

But there was injury scare for the Black Queens when Juliet Acheampong was rushed to the hospital.

In the 55th minute, substitute Samira Suleman doubled the lead with another simple tap in.

It was her first touch of the ball after coming on.

The Black Queens now hold the aces to qualify to the finals of the 2014 African Women Championship to be hosted by Namibia.
