Black Queens captain Mercy Myles happy for Portia Boakye's CAF nomination

Black Queens captain, Mercy Myles has expressed delight over the nomination of her team mate Portia Boakye as African Female Footballer of the Year.

The Confederation of African Football (CAF) released the final five shortlists for the Female African Footballer of the year which included Portia Boakye as the award is scheduled to come off next year in Lagos, Nigeria.

And the captain of the side discloses she is delighted for her team mate.

“Portia is very happy for the nomination and we are all happy for her because she has really worked very hard. She was part of Florence Oko’s squad that faded out. She is one of the most experienced players in the Black Queens as of now.”

“To get such a nomination is a huge recognition. We are proud of Portia and we are proud of her achievements too. We hope she wins to lift the flag of Ghana high,” she added.

Portia Boakye was part of the Black Queens team that beat Cameroon to win gold medal at the 2015 All African Games held in Congo Brazzaville.
