Black Queens coach Yusif Basigi says his side is inspired by their failure to qualify for the Olympic Games ahead of their qualifier against Egypt.

The Ghana women’s team have been unable to qualify for the world showpiece despite their dominance at times on the African continent.

The team will be beginning another campaign to qualify for the 2016 edition in Rio away to Egypt this weekend.

And coach Yusif Basigi says his team is determined to get past this age-long obstacle.

“Our chances are bright. We have a big insight of our opponents and we have prepared very well,” he said.

“The Queens have never played in the Olympic Games and we want to make our way into the record books.

“Beyond that we are deeply motivated to break our jinx at the Olympic Games qualifiers and do well.”

Ghana will face either Cameroon or Guinea Bissau once they go past Egypt in the next round of qualifiers.
