Ghana took a giant step towards qualification to the 2014 African Womenââ¬â¢s Championship after a first leg 3-0 win over Burkina Faso on Sunday in the penultimate qualifier.
A double from Faiza Ibrahim and a goal by Agnes Aduako in the first half handed the Black Queens a comfortable advantage.
Ibrahim started the rout in the 3rd minute with her first of the evening before Aduako made it 2-0 for Ghana in the 16th minute.
Eight minutes later, Ibrahim was on hand again to make it three-nil.
The return leg will be played in Accra on the weekend of February 28 â⬓ 2 March.
The Black Queens will meet Ethiopia in the final qualifying round if they advance.
The 2014 African Womenââ¬â¢s Championship will be played between 11â⬓25 October where the top three team qualifying to the FIFA Womenââ¬â¢s World Cup in Canada.
