Black Satellites to face Portgual at U20 World Cup knock-out phase

Ghana will take on Portugal in a the second rounf of the FIFA U20 World Cup on Wednesday night in the Turkish town of Kayseri.

Ghana lined-up the clash against the Portuguese on Saturday after clinching the last place reserved for the four best third-placed teams in the competition.

The Black Satellites will face a tough task against the Portuguese who topped Group B that had Nigeria, South Korea and Cuba.

The Portuguese topped Group B on seven points after defeating Nigeria 3-2, drawing with South Korea 2-2 before smashing 5-0 past tournament debutants Cuba.

The Black Satellites had to rely on Egypt to defeat England 2-0 to knock both countries out of the running for a place in the latter stages of the competition.

With the performances of the Ghanaians lifting in their matches against Spain and USA, the Ghanaians can be confident that they will give the Portuguese a good fight for a place in the quarter-finals.
