Black Satellites were complacent against Zambia- Ghana U20 chief Winfred Osei

Ghana U20 management committee chief Wilfred Osei admits his team was complacent in their 2-1 win over Zambia on Thursday.

The Black Satellites booked their place in the semi finals of the ongoing African Youth Championships with the win over the Junior Chipolopolo.

The win also secures Ghana’s place as one of four African representatives at the U20 World Cup to be staged in New Zealand in June.

Sellas Tetteh’s side were however made to work for the win as they recovered from an early setback to score late to beat a spirited Zambian side.

But the team’s management committee head sensed complacency creeping into his side following their comfortable opening win over South Africa.

“I think complacency set in a bit,” Wilfred Osei said after the hard fought win over Zambia.

“After our opening win, the players were getting too comfortable and it is something we will work on going into our final group game.

“In our first game against South Africa, we dominated and created a lot of chances but things were a bit different in this one [game against Zambia].

“There are however signs that we will do well in this tournament and that is what we will be focusing on.”

Ghana will now face Mali on Sunday to determine which of the two finishes as winners of Group B.
