Black Starlets to move camp to Denmark before U-17 World Cup

Black Starlets management committee vice president, Abdul Salam Yakubu has disclosed that the team will pitch camp in Denmark to prepare for the upcoming FIFA U-17 World Cup in India.

The two-time world champions have been pitted in Group A alongside host country India, Colombia and USA in the biennial competition which is scheduled to kick off on 6 October.

According to Salam Yakubu, the team can only triumph in the impending competition with adequate preparations hence the plan to move camp to the Scandinavian country.

Yakubu Salam who is the Vice President of the Starlet management committee believes adequate preparations can help the team to be in good shape for the World Cup.

“The team will be travelling to Denmark to compete in a mini tournament before the competition starts in India,” Yakubu told footballmadeinghana.com

“We are looking forward for support from the Ministry Of Youth and Sports to help us prepare well. We shall surely qualify from our group,”

Ghana will play Colombia in the opening fixture of the Group on October 6 at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in New Delhi.
