Waris scored for Lorient

Ghana international striker Abdul Majeed Waris finally scored his first French Ligue 1 goal since March.

The 25-year-old attacker pulled even for Lorient when he scored in the 16th minute at the Stade Saint-Symphorien in Metz.

Waris fired home with a clinical volley from a Cafu assist to score his first league goal since scoring against Caen in a 2-1 away win last season.

Lorient have struggle in early season football in France and the general poor form of the club has had it tolls on the Ghanaian who has scored just two goals this season - a Coupe de la Ligue goal against Stade Rennes in late October, adding to yesterday's finish.

Lorient, who led the game at some point, eventually threw away their lead and settled for a 3-3 draw and remain afoot the Ligue 1 table with 8 points from 14 games.
