Black Stars management committee chairman George Afriyie is salivating on the performance of the home-based trio who featured in Tuesday’s 3-2 friendly win over Congo.

AshantiGold captain Lawrence Lartey was named in the starting line-up with Baba Mensah and Samuel Tetteh coming from the bench to play cameos.

The three players were making their debuts after being drafted from the Black Meteors camp- preparing for the upcoming 2015 All Africa Games in Brazzaville.

Left back Patrick Asmah and Kennedy Ashia were also invited but unused.

Afriyie is happy the players did not disappoint when handed game times.

“We have always maintained that the local boys are good materials. I believe that if you give them a chance they will deliver. We all saw what they did so I have no doubts at all but all depends on the coach,” he told Joy FM after the match.

Ghana’s squad will travel to Kigali on Thursday to prepare for Rwanda on Saturday in a Group H 2017 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier.
