Kwadwo Asamoah was a surprise inclusion in the Black Stars team that left Accra for their training camp in Abu Dhabi on Friday.

The Juventus midfielder had apparently arrived from his Italy base late last night to join his teammates for the trip to prepare adequately for the 2013 Africa Cup of Nations.

The full compliment of the Black Stars team with the exception of seven players (per GHANAsoccernet.com’s count) who will join in by Saturday boarded the flight to Abu Dhabi at the Kotoka International Airport.

The team and its accompanying officials went through and completed their per-flight formalities by 5pm local time.

Some of the players and officials granted interviews to the media present before being prompted to board their flight at approximately 5:40 pm local time.

The team is led by Ghana FA boss Kwasi Nyantakyi who also serves as the Black Stars Management Committee chairman.

The team will spend 11-days in Abu Dhabi before traveling to South Africa on January 16 – four days before their opening group game at the Nations Cup against DR Congo.

We are praying for you. Please bring the cup home!

Why not camp in Zimbabwe, southern namibia or Lesotho? It is winter in the gulf and summer in southern Africa.

let us pray that Andre’s injury is not serious, otherwise we will have nobody to do the “zidane dribble” Andre Ayew did double to beat 2 defenders in the mali game which led to the freekick Gyan scored. Or the dribble on the right wing which led to the penalty and Ghana’s equalizing goal against Australia in the worldcup. Andre Ayew, K.Asamoah, Gyan and wakaso will be our difference at this Afcon. This is Atsu’s first Afcon so I believe he is just going to thirst the waters. This is also Wakaso’s first Afcon but unlike Atsu, Wakaso looks like he is already built for the African desert. He is a boot-4-boot player, kankpe! So Let us pray for Ayew to recover quickly otherwise I have a feeling our fufu go spoil at this Afcon.

Nah wah, wah ooooooooooooo! Kwame Pito de fufu dey for garbage, We for pray hard.
