Black Stars deputy coach Maxwell Konadu applauds New Edubiase despite their 1-0 home loss to Wa All Stars

Black Stars assistant coach Maxwell Konadu has lauded the quality of play of relegation-bound New Edubiase United after their 1-0 home loss to Wa All Stars insisting he is surprised they are being relegated.

According to the former Wa All Stars and Asante Kotoko tactician, the quality of play of the Bekwai-based side does not show a side that lacks the needed strength to survive the Ghana Premier League.

He says that even though they lost to the league leaders at home, they would have survived the season if they had shown the same quality in all their matches.

“Both teams played good football and must be applauded. But I am still surprised that New Edubiase could play such quality football and still struggle in the league,” he told the media.

“I must admit that I am a little surprised because Edubiase have displayed great football quality today especially in the second half,” he added.

“Wa All Stars built on their confidence level because of their position on the league to win the game. Edubiase did well but Wa All Stars were determined.”

The Bekwai-based side has been locked at the bottom of the league table for most part of the second round and only a miracle can save them from the claws of relegation.
