Ghana captain Asamoah Gyan insist the current generation of Black Stars players are desperate to end the nationââ¬â¢s trophy drought.
The Black Stars have not won anything since their last Africa Cup of Nations triumph back in 1982.
Ghana has come close a couple of times â⬓ in 1992 and 2010 â⬓ to winning its fifth African title only to see their title charge disappear into thin air at the depth.
But captain Asamoah Gyan says the current crop are as anxious as every Ghanaian to end the 33-year trophy drought by the time the next Nations Cup kicks off in Equatorial Guinea in January.
ââ¬ÅFor us the players it is always in our mind that we should do something before the next generation,â⬠the Al Ain ace told GTVââ¬â¢s Sports Highlight show.
ââ¬ÅWe want to break the jinx. This is what Ghanaians want and it is something we the players also want.ââ¬
Ghana will begin camping for the 2015 AFCON early in the New Year in Spain before traveling to their base in Mongomo for the competition.
The Black Stars are drawn in a tough group alongside Algeria, South Africa and Senegal.
