Ghana FA boss Kwesi Nyantakyi says the Black Stars players have felt the anger and disappointment of Ghanaians following the circumstances leading to their early exit from the 2014 World Cup and are determined to redeem themselves.

The GFA President in Day 2 of his appearance before the Presidential Commission apologized once more again on behalf of the entire Black Stars team for their failed campaign in Brazil.

The Black Stars players revolted over the delayed payment in their $100,000 appearance fees.

They resorted to boycotting two training sessions in the lead up to the final group game against Portugal – which Ghana lost 2-1 to crash out of the competition at the first round stage.

The move by the players has been widely considered as holding the nation to ransom for their ‘selfish interest’.

Other players also engaged in several acts of indiscipline – leading to the sacking and indefinite suspension placed on Sulley Muntari and Kevin-Prince Boateng.

The Black Stars got a taste of the massive wrath of the Ghanaian fans when they were booed in their first post-World Cup game against Uganda played last month in Kumasi – where the team is used to overwhelming love and support.

The pain of the fans was well manifested in the 2015 AFCON qualifier against Uganda and Nyantakyi says the players have taken a cue from it and have decided to reform for the better.

“I want to on behalf of the players, the technical and management team to ask Ghanaians to let bygones be bygones,” the GFA boss told the Presidential Commission on Wednesday.

“What happened in Kumasi was a spontaneous reaction. I don’t think anyone planned it.

“It was a clear manifestation of the anger and disappointment of the Ghanaian people.

“And the players felt it and have since decided to agree to all the reforms that we are making.”
