Andre Ayew didn't join the Black Stars to Tamale

Andre Ayew was conspicuously missing from the Black Stars team that boarded a flight to Tamale for their final 2015 AFCON qualifier against Togo on Monday morning.

The Olympique Marseille star picked up a thigh injury in Saturday’s 1-0 defeat in Uganda.

Ayew’s injury is however considered not serious and that he will be available for selection when Ghana hosts Togo on Wednesday.

The 24-year-old did not arrive when his brother, Jordan was dropped off at the airport to join the entire Black Stars team for the 45-minute trip to Tamale.

Ayew is expected to join the team later on as he needs rest to help him recover quickly from the mild thigh injury.

Asamoah Gyan, who is also tipped to make a surprise return to action for the Black Stars in the game against Togo also didn't make the trip with the Black Stars.

Ghana remains in pole position to pick one of the automatic qualification slot from Group E.

The Black Stars only require a point to book their place in next year’s finals which will now be staged by Equatorial Guinea.
