Black Stars head Coach Avram Grant has refuted suggestions that a win against Rwanda will secure qualification for the next AFCON competition to be staged in Gabon.
Ghana are favorites to top Group H and started the qualification series in blistering form as solitary goals from Christian Atsu, Jeffrey Schlupp, David Accam and a brace each from Aston Villa striker Jordan Ayew and skipper Asamoah Gyan giving Ghana a 7-1 victory, with Mauritius grabbing a consolation through striker Andy Sophie.
Their opponents Rwanda also secured an impressive 1-0 away victory in Maputo against Mozambique.
The winner between the Rwanda and Ghana game will wheel clear in Group H but Grant says there is still a long way to go in the qualifiers.
ââ¬ÅIn any result nothing will finish tomorrow that is certain,â⬠Grant said
ââ¬ÅBut for us the game against Rwanda is a target but we have a bigger target.ââ¬
ââ¬ÅMy target is to put Ghana in the highest level of football in the world and I think it would not be easy but it is achievable.ââ¬
ââ¬ÅAs I said before in many aspects of the game we are better now intelligence, fighting spirit, tactical, individual we are better.ââ¬
ââ¬ÅWhen I received the team how many people played in the top European side but now we have five players in the English Premier League.ââ¬
ââ¬ÅPlayers have moved from their previous clubs to better clubs and all these is as a result of their performance in the national team.ââ¬
"So the sim is to ultimately achieve the bigger picture and be among the vest around."
