The Black Stars held their second training session at the Baba Yara Stadium on Wednesday morning without influential duo Andre Ayew and Abdul Majeed Waris.

The Olympique Marseille star and Waris, who has just completed a move to Turkish club Trabzonspor, are the only players left to complete the Ghana camp ahead of their opening 2015 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Uganda on Saturday.

They are expected to join the Black Stars camp later in the day.

The Black Stars began training on Tuesday evening hours after arriving in Kumasi.

Harrison Afful was the only absentee in the opening training session as he arrived late from his base in Tunisia.

He was however heavily involved in Wednesday morning’s training session at the match venue as the other 22 players invited for this month’s games against Uganda and Togo.

The session began with light jogging after which the players were made to perform some sprinting exercises with the stuck-in ground poles.

Coach Kwesi Appiah later conducted set piece drills with his team, sharpening their scoring techniques off free and corner kicks.

The Black Stars were accorded a much better reception on their second day of training following a relative hostile stance of some sections of the fans on Tuesday.

The team will continue with their preparations with another training session in the venue where Majeed Waris and Andre Ayew are expected to join their international teammates.
