Ghana players celebrating a win in the Group stage

Ghana left for Nelspruit on Monday morning for their semi-final match against Burkina Faso at the Mbombela Stadium.

This will be the first time the Black Stars will be leaving Port Elizabeth since touching down two weeks ago.

Ghana played all three Group matches in the Eastern Cape and the quarter-final clash against Cape Verde which they won 2-0 last Saturday.

The four-time African champions will play the Stallions on Wednesday night.

“I will like to thank everybody for their support,” Ghana captain Gyan said.

“Talking about the first day we go to South Africa, the reception we had at the airport (Johannesburg) to PE it was really incredible.

“Three years ago we won a lot of hearts in South Africa and since we came here they have really shown appreciation and we really thank them for what they’ve done.”

A country like Togo will build 4 stadia to host the AFCON,one of the pitches might not be good, thats all the have 4 stadia to host the tournament,so we play anyway ‘cos nothing can be done. How do you tell me a country like South Africa with so stadia yet we are left to play on a pitch which looks like something from a 1920′s football tournament??Didn’t CAF inspect the stadium to know the pitch is unsuitable? Why didn’t the Local Organising Committee even draw CAF’s attention that the pitch isn’t in a good state??? At this level of the game and the level of incompetence is unacceptable and its not as if South Africa only have 4 stadia..

During the last afcon,Zambia played their quarter finals match before us and therefore had a day or two rest before meeting us and hence they were fresh and full of energy!! Ghana had it tough against Tunisia and we needed an extra time goal to qualified to the semi finals….. we looked tired against the zambians and they took advantage of it to beat us…. the same scenario has played out here whereby Burkina has being stretched to their limit by togo and hence Ghana should not have no excuse of beating them because we have had more rest etc…… we don’t want any heart attack football from the likes of vorsah, boye and meadows asa because we are fucking tire of their fucking mediocrity!!!! They should stop being fucking cowards and be real soldiers because their play sucks big time!!! How can players who are used to high pressure games right from here( kotoko/hearts) etc with full staduims, get scared in half stadium!!! Vorsah, kojo asa etc has played in high pressure leagues and is about time they live up to expectations and stop their bullshit!!! We are tired of their cowardiness, inefficiency and inconsistency!!! Viva the revolutionciooooooooo!!!!!
