Ghana squad arrive in Washington ahead of Tuesday's friendly against Canada

Ghana's top players have started arriving in Washington ahead of next week's international friendly against Canada with several players coming from their bases in Europe to join the Black Stars camp.

The local contingent of the Black Stars led by management committee chairman George Afriyie also arrived safely in Washington this morning ahead of Ghana’s game against Canada on Tuesday.

Goalkeeper Fatau Dauda who was the only local based player to make the trip and deputy coach Maxwell Konadu were all part of the team which arrived in Washington.

Some players from Europe including Italy-based duo of Afriyie Acquah and Alfred Duncan joined the camp in Washington as well as Spain-based goalkeeper Razak Brimah.

Germany-based Phil Ofosu-Ayeh, who is making his first appearance in the Black Stars team, is also among some of the first players to join the team.

Ghana's best sportsman of year Harrison Afful, who plays in the MLS, has also joined the team as coach Avram Grant boosts the numbers ahead of the game.

Black Stars Coach Avram Grant was already in the United States after a scouting trip.

Middlesbrough's in-form winger Albert Adomah also joined the squad last night from his England base.

 

he team has been allowed by head Coach Avram Grant to rest  this morning because of the long journey from their bases in Europe and Africa.

They are expected to take to the pitch around 6pm U.S time for shake up.
