Kwadwo Asamoah has returned from injury

Black Stars management committee chairman George Afriyie has expressed delight at the injury return of midfielder Kwadwo Asamoah.

The 26-year-old made a first team return for Juventus last weekend having been sidelined with a knee injury for almost a year.

Asamoah had endured a tumultuous time in his recovery which suffered several setbacks after undergoing surgery to fix a problem in his knee last November.

The Ghanaian however made a triumphant return last weekend to play a minimal role in Juventus’ Serie-A win over Bologna.

Asamoah’s progress on the injury front is good news for Ghana who have sorely missed his creativity and ingenuity in midfield especially at the 2015 AFCON.

And management committee chief of the Black Stars George Afriyie admits he is delighted with the imminent return of the former Udinese man to the team.

“I think that he is one of our future, he is one of the good players Ghana has ever produced,” he said.

“When he went off due to injury we were all worried but I thank God that he’s back and we hope that he is back for a bang and that he’ll continue to do what he does best.

“And lets us continue to support him. When it comes to Kwadwo Asamoah we all know what he can do.

“He is one of the most exciting players we can see on the African terrain and so we wish him well and hoping he will be back soon and be part of the Black Stars team.”
