Black Stars management committee chairman George Afriyie insists there is no plot to boycott games when the qualifiers for the 2017 Africa Cup of Nations resume next year.

According to a report in the Daily Guide newspaper, some key players of the Black Stars team have resolved not to make themselves available for selection when Ghana host Mozambique because of their unpaid bonuses.

The Black Stars are uncharacteristically owed winning bonuses for previous matches played.

The players have now threaten to emulate the stance taken by the Black Queens by revolting for their unpaid bonus according to the newspaper report.

But the chairman of the team’s management committee George Afriyie insists such a plot within the Black Stars is non-existent.

“There is nothing of the sort,” he said.

“I was taken aback when I read the story online but as far as I am concerned, there is nothing like that.”

The Sports Ministry claim they have no more funds to foot the bills of the various sporting activities.

The budget of the Sports Ministry is set to be slashed one more again when the Finance Minister Seth Tekper presents the 2016 national budget to Parliament next month.
