Read GHANAsoccernet.com’s Black Stars' player-by-player ratings from Ghana's 3-1 win over Sudan in the 2014 World Cup qualifier in Omdurman on Friday.

FATAU DAUDA The AshGold keeper had a busy night but despite a string of saves he couldn’t keep the Sudanese at bay from the penatly kick and picked the ball out of his own net once. He had some few nervy moments when the Sudanese attacked. Never looked in any trouble when dealing with crosses. Made an incredible stop from Careca. Rating: 7

HARRISON AFFUL Fired from his blocks with useful crosses. Relished the open space in behind Gyan and produced a class cross for Gyan's second goal. Not much more of a threat going forward when he was pushed to the left-back position when Kissi-Boateng was sent off. But he was solid in defending and on the few occassions he joined the attack he was a threat. But for Gyan's heroics, Afful could have been man-of-the-match. Rating: 8

RICHARD KISSI-BOATENG He was adjudged to have clipped a Sudanese for the penalty. The left-back was sent-off for a fouling a Sudanese defender in the box that resulted in the penatly for the home side in the first half. He was sent off to round off his miserable night. Rating: 6

JONATHAN MENSAH The defensive rock did not struggle against the Sudanese attackers. Hardly got a mention during the match because all too often he cleared his lines decently. Rating: 6.5

JOHN BOYE Tried to hold the line and battled to stem the tide but it was a forlorn effort against one of the best attacks in African football. By his own high standards it was not his most commanding display but effective in keeping the incessant attack from the Sudanese particularly in the second-half at bay. Rating: 6.5

RABIU MOHAMMED Happy to do Ghana’s dirty work — and did it well keeping the dangerous Sudanese midfielders quiet. There is no doubt that the midfielder is a quality player despite being surrounded by efficient Sudanese. Rating: 7.5

ALBERT ADOMAH Never gave up and was always battling, always probing, always believing — and he probably still does believe even after the 3-1 first-leg scoreline. Rating: 7

SULLEY MUNTARI Was handed licence to roam and midfielder managed to do a decent job with his tackles and passes. Reminded Ghanaians of his genius — the AC Milan star never wastes a pass. His goal, though admitting that it was a lucky effort, shows how important he is to the Black Stars. Rating: 8

RICHMOND BOAKYE YIADOM One of Ghana's brightest hope with his pace, vision and trickery — but the speedy striker suffered from a lack of service on a difficult night. He had some few chances but the Sudanese defenders were resolute. Rating: 7

ASAMOAH GYAN Gyan had to live on scraps against his the tough sides in Africa but, like all good strikers, when he got the chances he buried them and put Ghana in the hunt for a place in the playoff. Was always Ghana’s most dangerous weapon by scoring and setting a new national scoring record. Definitely the best player of the field for fighting and scoring the two goals. MAN-OF-THE-MATCH Rating: 9

MUBARAK WAKASO A joy to watch when he is stroking it around. But had to be sacrificed to shore up the Black Stars defence in the wake of Kissi's sending off. Rating: 6

SUBSTITUTES SAMUEL INKOOM (Wakaso ). The France-based defender never looked stretched at the back and had a header saved. Rating: 5 EMMANUEL AGYEMANG BADU (Adomah) He came in to stabilise the midfielder that was waning in power because of the attack of the Sudanese. Rating: 6 RASHID SUMAILA (). Failed to make much of an impact but he had a very long header on goal. Rating: 5
