Black Stars psychologist Professor J.K Mintah expects duo Afriyie Acquah and Jordan Ayew to improve their relationship after they played in the country’s 2017 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Rwanda.

The two players showed no signs of tension following a widespread leaked tape which captured the voice of Amanda Owusu, wife of Afriyie Acquah claiming she slept with Jordan for four years before she got married to the Ghana international.

It was feared the widely publicized issue could affect the relationship between the two players following the explosive exposé from the loud mouth ‘town-girl’ wife of the Torino midfielder.

But the two players put their personal issues aside to help the West Africans record a vital 1-0 win over Rwanda in Kigali and the team’s psychologist Professor J.K Mintah expects the scenario to continue.

“This issue was purely psychological. I dealt with it through experience and practice and that is why we got the results we got on that day,” he told Accra-based Starr FM

“We don’t control their social lives. They are adults. I think they will take good care of themselves.”

There were calls for Ghana coach Avram Grant, an ex-Chelsea manager, to axe both Acquah and Aston Villa striker Ayew for the sake of team harmony but he kept faith with the duo for the qualifier.
