Black Stars winger Frank Acheampong reveals motivation for China move

Tianjin Teda FC new signing Frank Acheampong has revealed his move to China was motivated by the mouth-watering offer tabled by the Chinese side and their quest to sign him.

The former Anderlecht man adds that the Chinese side indicated their readiness for him insisting they ‘showed interest in me.”

Frank, 23, signed a six months loan deal with the Super League side with the option to renew which greatly lies on the shoulder of the player.

But Frank believes that with the offer tabled and the lukewarm attitude of some English clubs that had shown interest in him, it would have been insane to say no to the Chinese side.

“Yes the English clubs were there but nothing was concrete but the people here were serious and the offer was good,” he told GHANAsoccernet.com

“My club had a good deal and I am also okay with my part which will make my family happy with and secure my future.

“Am grateful to God for the deal and I hope to make a great impact here. And with God on my side, I will make it happen,” he added.

The Black Stars player was expected to make a big-money move to the rising football powerhouse but opted to have a feel of the system before sealing a permanent deal.

Life in Asia will not be extremely tough for the former Anderlecht man as he has already tasted football in Asia with stint with Buriram United in Thailand from 2011-2013.

The much-awaited deal was hatched by top German agent Oliver Koenig who has been the representative of Frank for almost a decade now.
