The centre-back revealed to that during the medal presentation at the just ended CHAN tournament, Blatter whispered to him he was looking forward to seeing him play at the World Cup.

Ainooson was named man of the match in that pulsating semi-final victory over West African rivals Nigeria.

“During the medal presentation as I walked through to pick up my medal I greeted a host of dignitaries but when I got to FIFA President he pulled me closer and whispered to me that he was impressed with my output and could have been named man of the match but for our lost,” Ainooson told

“For a young guy to die for his country like I did he is expecting to see me at the world.”

Ainossson joined Kotoko before the start of the season from New Edubiase United as a replacement for Rashid Sumaila who signed for Mamelodi Sundowns.
