Richmond Boakye-Yiadom celebrates his strike with his Sassuolo team-mates

Black Stars striker Richmond Boakye-Yiadom registered his ninth goal of Italian Serie B season by scoring the opener for Sassuolo in their 5-0 mauling of Cesena on Sunday.

The 19-year-old opened the floodgate for Eusebio Di Francesco’s side in the 17th minute at the Stadio Alberto Braglia.

The 2013 AFCON-bound hit a piercing low driver through the visitors defence to put his side 1-0 ahead.

Boakye’s lone strike separated the two sides before a second-half brace from Domenico Berardi and Gennaro Troianiello and Tommaso Bianchi each scoring twice to seal an emphatic win.

The Juventus loanee has taken his season tally to nine from 18 games.

Compatriot Yussif Raman Chibsah watched the game from the stands.

At the rate he is going he could be the first 30 million rated striker we produce!!

  5. Dr Who says:

Its about time AA gives him enough play time. Its always difficult to score in italy bcos of the defensive nature of their game so for him to be scoring an average of a goal in two matches is remarkable.During the upcoming era of Asamoah Gyan,he wasnt that prolific but he was given enough opportunity to lead our attack with Matthew Amoah & that built his confidence and gave him reasonable exposure.AA should do the same to Richmond.AFCON 2013 here we come!
