Black Stars striker Richmond Boakye-Yiadom registered his ninth goal of Italian Serie B season by scoring the opener for Sassuolo in their 5-0 mauling of Cesena on Sunday.

The 19-year-old opened the floodgate for Eusebio Di Francesco's side in the 17th minute at the Stadio Alberto Braglia.

The 2013 AFCON-bound hit a piercing low driver through the visitors defence to put his side 1-0 ahead.

Boakye's lone strike separated the two sides before a second-half brace from Domenico Berardi and Gennaro Troianiello and Tommaso Bianchi each scoring twice to seal an emphatic win.

The Juventus loanee has taken his season tally to nine from 18 games.

Compatriot Yussif Raman Chibsah watched the game from the stands.
