Ghanaian youngster Richmond Boakye-Yiadom is staying positive despite his failure to help Sassuolo gain promotion to the Serie-A.

The 19-year-old missed out on qualification to the Italian topflight when his side fell to Sampdoria in the playoffs after Sassuolo finished third in the regular Serie-B season.

The on-loan Genoa striker however insists it has been a successful campaign where he had a goal return of 12.

“I think it has been a good season, not disappointing at all,” he told Accra-based Radio XYZ.

“We wanted to qualify for the Serie-A but it didn’t happen but I believe we had a good season in all.”

It is at this point unclear whether Genoa will recall the Ghana U-20 star to their first team after his season-long loan deal expired at the end of the Serie-B campaign.
