Ghana midfielder Derek Boateng is angling for a move away from Ukrainian club Dnipro according to manager Juande Ramos.

The 29-year-old was conspicuously missing in last weekend’s 2-0 win over Metalurh Donetsk.

The initial explanation for the former Getafe enforcer’s absence was that he was suffering from food poisoning.

However Dnipro manager Ramos has revealed Boateng wants to leave the club despite being paid colossal amounts of money as salary.

“At the moment, the Ghanaian midfielder (Boateng)has a contract with Dnipro, for which he receives a very respectable money, but the player at the same time declares that he would not stay here,” Ramos said.

Boateng has in the past been subjected to racial abuse which according to sources have turned his head as to whether to remain in Ukraine.

He has been consistently linked to a move to some English clubs including West Bromwich Albion and Fulham.

Boateng joined the Dnipropetrovsk side from Getafe in the summer of 2011 on a four year deal.
