Abdulai Alhassan has chalked a piece of history by becoming the first owner-player of a top-flight side in the world after featuring in his side's 3-3 draw with Hearts of Oak on Wednesday in the Ghana Premier League.

He is also the chairman of the Northern Regional Football Association and serves on the Executive Committee of the Ghana Football Association.

Alhassan was introduced after 65 minutes and helped them to score the third goal but Alexandre Kouassi Kouami equalized for Hearts.

The 30-year-old was registered by the club during the second transfer window which opened two weeks ago.

He played for former Ghana Premier League campaigners St. Mirren before moving to Dutch side FC Utrecht.
