Ghana's Kwesi Appiah

Ghana striker Kwesi Appiah was expected to resume training today – but AFC Wimbledon boss Neal Ardley will not be rushing the striker back.

The former Crystal Palace man has already suffered one setback as he battles to get back from a hamstring problem.

“Kwesi will hopefully join back in the group today,” said Ardley. “We have got a plan in place but with him re-injuring the hamstring before there is just a tiny bit of edginess.

“Anthony Hartigan, who has been out with a little bit of an ongoing knee problem where it swelled up after the Walsall game, is also due to train with us.

“George Francomb had to be sent home at the weekend due to illness in his family. It was a bad stomach bug  and we had to get him away from the players and back home.”
