Boye's yellow card in French Ligue 1 overturned

The French Ligue I Disciplinary Committee has wiped out John Boye's yellow-card picked up in last Sunday's 1-0 defeat at Bordeaux.

The centre-back was booked after 20 minutes for a tackle on Yoan Gouffran inside the Rennes box.

The referee awarded a penalty in what many described as a controversial decision but Rennes goalkeeper Benoit Costil ensured justice was done, though, diving to his left to keep out Henri Saivet's effort.

Upon reviewing the incident, the LFP has decided to reverse the decision taken by the referee.

"The Commission, having received the referee's report recognizes that no sanction should have been taken and after watching the video, decided to cancel the warning attributed to John Boye in the 20th minute" , the LFP statement said.
